OK, I found the pix


Well, we got the windows in October, but the side casements had the wrong hardware. At any rate, here is the bay and gable with house wrap and temporary roofing (we got some good rain storms, so had to do something). We decided to hire out the re-roofing.

We did some serious bug prevention in the soffit vents.  Just so you know, no hornets have been able to get into the house all summer!

Here the new shingles are delivered and a huge wagon to dump the old shingles in.

The whole house reshingled and the soffit and facsia started. We also put up siding and primed it. Notice the roof of the cellar and the steps to the door. They disappeared in the next project.

The work was easy over the deck, but . . .

They had their youngest, skinniest guy do the end of the house.

Didn't they do a nice job?

We finally got the other two windows in December.

Gary and Tom did the interior window seat. Notice how my Room of Requirement has become a construction yard. It stayed that way for a long time.

When I found the pictures, I found some previous projects, like the deck, the front yard and front porch roof. Let me know if you want to see those before I start on the new cellar/shop.

Hi to the very few people who will be able to find this.  This is my first attempt at blogging.  Debbie thought I should post the pictures of the work we are doing on the house.  Just so I don't lose everybody's interest all at once, I will only post a few at a time.  (he he he . . .) And of course only a select few of them.  We took hundreds of pictures.  Only I don't know where Gary filed them.

About a year ago we replaced a patio door with a box-bay window and window seat.  Here is the first batch of pictures:

First we took out the door and cut off the eaves of the roof

Then started framing the box.  It took most of a day to get the holes drilled in the old porch for the base plate.

This is all we got done the first weekend.  (We only had weekends to work).

Next weekend we did more framing and started on the gable:

Russell came Saturday and helped complete the gable . . .

And put up the cantilevered beam--really heavy.

Well, we finally got to this point a couple of weeks later, and that's all for today.  I'll have to find the rest of the pictures on Gary's computer.
